Dear People of North Charleston:
For 34 years, I have worked tirelessly to serve and protect each of you, no matter where you lived, what kind of car you drove, or how big of a house you lived in. I joined the North Charleston Police Department in 1989 and quickly earned a reputation as an extremely competent, reliable, and hard-working law enforcement officer.
Through the years, I earned numerous promotions and accolades for my service to you and in 2018, I was appointed Chief of Police of the North Charleston Police Department, tasked with further protecting the people of this city that I love with every fiber in my body.
Just as you trusted me to lead the North Charleston Police Department to serve and protect you, I am asking for your trust and support to serve you as Mayor of North Charleston.
As Mayor, I will work endlessly to earn your vote every day as the unflappable, accessible, and determined leader of North Charleston. Public Safety will remain paramount for me. Comprehensive community development and improvements throughout this great city will be my task. Supporting and developing small businesses, while inviting new and bigger businesses will be my goal, to build North Charleston’s growing economic stature. Fostering strong relationships between the city’s administration and non-profit organizations in innovative and creative ways to improve the overall quality of life for all our residents is vital to me to help make North Charleston a city for all its residents. Together, we will build a community of inclusivity, cooperation, and growth that will propel us forward and upward.
Today, we take our first step. Let’s Walk Together toward a greater North Charleston.

I say this because the “WIN. EVERY. DAY.” philosophy is not about winning games or someone else losing. It is about you doing everything you can to be the best person that you can be and being able to know that every night when you lie down, you’ve done your best that day.
Simple. But this may help.
WIN. – Make sure that everything you do, you are doing it to be the best version of YOU. Set goals and work towards those goals. Win by helping others and seeing them succeed.
EVERY – Every minute and every moment of your day, do what you need to do to help you WIN and accomplish whatever goal you may have. Every action should be to help you and others.
DAY – Days become weeks. Weeks become months. Months become years. Strive to establish the WIN. EVERY. portion of this philosophy each DAY and in the end, you will have moved closer to your goals and hopes.
We believe this in our Campaign and we talk about it each day.
I believe that if we as a city start to think in this manner, it will benefit us all. It sounds idealistic, but I have no problem with being idealistic. I think we need idealism in our lives. But truly I believe that through cooperation, collaboration, and consistent effort, we can all truly WIN. EVERY. DAY.
That is our goal.
